Free Lottery Syndicate Agreement Form

If you’re managing a Lottery Syndicate, make sure you get it right.

This Free, Instant Download Lottery Syndicate Agreement is a straightforward form that allows a lottery syndicate  to pool the lottery contributions and winnings.

The Agreement sets out the terms under which contributions are made to the Syndicate and clearly states how winnings should be divided in the event of default of member contributions.

Playing through a lottery syndicate has been shown to significantly increase the chances of winning. In fact,

one in four lottery jackpots are won by a lottery syndicate.

So, we know that playing through a lottery syndicate is a wise choice, but have you thought what would happen if something went wrong? What if someone did not pay their stake on the week that your syndicate won? What if one of your syndicate members demanded a larger share of the winnings, perhaps because they were the manager of the winning syndicate?

A legal solution to this problem would be difficult, so how do you ensure that your syndicate runs without a hitch?

A lottery syndicate agreement or contract is essential for all members and should be signed by every member of the syndicate.

You may find that there is no 'standard' lottery syndicate agreement, so you should ensure that the contract that you are signing covers every eventuality that is likely to arise should the syndicate win. The agreement can certainly help settle disputes between members and could in fact be used as legal evidence in any disagreement between the syndicate members.

It is important that the agreement or contract states the names of the syndicate members and also information such as their chosen numbers and the amount they pay each week to stay in the syndicate.

The policy on winnings, such as how they are split and if small wins are to be put against next weeks tickets etc.,

should be included on the form. Generally, if all syndicate members contribute the same amount each week, then the winnings are split evenly between the syndicate. However, some members may elect to pay for two syndicate 'entries' and as such receive two shares of the winnings, but this should be made very clear on the agreement.

There should be a very clear rule for players who fail, or are unable to pay during a playing period. There should

perhaps be a time limit for how long they remain in the syndicate without paying. Are they excluded immediately from the next lottery draw or are they given some leeway to pay their contribution?

The agreement should be clear on what lottery draws the syndicate will enter each week. Saturday only, Wednesday and Saturday, UK Lotto, Euromillions?

It is very important that the lottery syndicate agreement is kept up to date and re-written and re-signed by all the

syndicate members, whenever any change occurs in the syndicate. For example, new players joining, changes to contributions etc.

It is normal to assign a manager to the syndicate whose role could be to collect the contributions, purchase the lottery tickets, updating the agreement etc.

At the end of the day, you've got a much higher chance of winning when playing through a lottery syndicate, so it's important to get the right agreement for you, to save any potential problems if and when the big win comes!

Good luck !
