UK NATIONAL LOTTERY SCAMS
Recently there have been a number of scams reported to the UK National Lottery Commission. The scam is usually in the form of a bogus email. The email claims that the individual receiving the email has won a large sum of money and perform them can release the money they must supply the “agent” with their personal information.
The ploy used is the way the email appears. The email is outlined to look as though it is an official statement or winning notification from the UK National Lottery Commission. The winning notification is from a genuine lottery organization, thus if the individual goes to verify the legitimacy of the email a real legitimate organization will be found.
Unfortunately, the UK National Lottery has been subject to several different scams. All the scams claim that the individual has won money in the UK National Lottery. This has forced the UK National Lottery Commission to post a warning sign on their website about potential scammers.
The primary goal of the scams are to get the supposed winner to pay upfront fees before the winnings can be released Throughout this process the scammers also compile a sufficient amount of personal information, which then allows them to steal the victims identity.
Never trust an email that claims that you were a randomly selected winner for a large sum of lotto money.
Happy Winnings!
